- Detailed line work, crosshatching and feathering is used to emphasise features, definition and structure of the face, expression lines, shadows, and textures. The modern style is close to most western comic book art today.

- Uses simpler line art, relying more on the classic ‘Benday dot’ shading (enlarged dots) to bring out the form and different tonal values in the figure. This retro style achieves a raw, printed effect reminiscent of the older generation of comics. This technique is also prevalent in Japanese comics.

- Both styles are coloured digitally with pure block tones, often with similar hues for the main figure and background. Variations are sent to you during the process of the commission. Of course you may decide on your own colour schemes when placing your order. Complementary colours, opposites for high contrast, or colour in isolation. The possibilities are endless. You can also opt for the classic black and white look, which costs less.

- Pepito currently specialises in people portraits. One person per canvas is preferred, as everyone deserves his or her own individual attention and style. If you would like more than one person on the same canvas, there will of course be an additional charge due to the extra work involved. This will be discussed before any artwork begins.
- Our Custom Portraits are completely re-drawn from your photographs, taking influence from traditional artistic techniques. The artist will often resort to using pens, brushes and ink for initial sketching and concept work. Each portrait can take up to 16 hours to complete. Please remember, they are not just simply traced over in a computer program, automated, nor are they passed through photo-manipulation filters.

- Portraits are printed onto superior quality 500gsm woven canvas, which do not tear. Artwork is printed using advanced dye sublimation print technology, which fuses the inks deep into the canvas fibres. The end product is highly durable, with canvas prints that do not fade or crack when stretched over frame edges. This is unlike some plastic coated prints, where the ink merely sits on the surface and can begin to wear away or crack where the canvas is stretched around the frame.

- Canvas prints are hand stretched over pine stretcher frames that are 4.5 cm deep for a quality finish. Wedges are also applied after stretching to keep the canvas tight over time. Wall fittings are included with every order. Portraits are never wrapped around the sides of the frame (known as ‘gallery wrap’), as this could lead to distortion of the face and figure with certain compositions, for example close ups. Most artwork is produced this way to keep the entire image intact.

- If have your own printing and framing options, you can always commission a portrait from us in digital format. The process is the exactly same - the only difference is that when the artwork is complete, will will send you the image by e-mail or you can download it from our website. This is a cheaper option as you will not have to pay for the canvas print or delivery. We highly recommend this for international customers as delivery costs can be pricey. Also, you won't have to worry about the art work being damaged in transit.
